Meet the Schweis

Rabbi Aizik Schwei grew up in Luton, England, where his parents directed Chabad of Luton and the Luton United Synagogue. He began his rabbinical studies at a yeshiva in London before continuing his studies in the United States, learning in New Haven, Connecticut, as well as in New York and Toronto.

Mushky Schwei grew up in New London, Connecticut, where her parents direct Chabad of Eastern Connecticut. She attended high school at Bais Rivkah in Brooklyn, and then continued her studies at a seminary in Tzfat, Israel.

After getting married, Rabbi Aizik and Mushky Schwei moved to the Eastern Connecticut area in 2017 to establish Chabad of Norwich and to run youth programming for Chabad of Eastern Connecticut. They work closely with Mushky's parents, Rabbi and Mrs. Sternberg, of Chabad of Eastern Connecticut in New London. Rabbi Aizik and Mushky live in Norwich with their four children, dedicated to building Jewish life and community in the area.

Chabad of Norwich is a home where everyone is welcome — regardless of affiliation, level of knowledge or observance.

We strive to create a warm, welcoming and non-judgmental environment in which to explore and experience our beautiful heritage. Guided by the leadership and inspiration of the Lubavitcher Rebbe, Chabad has set the dictum of "Love your fellow as yourself" as the defining factor in its approach of unconditional acceptance of our fellow Jewish people.

Chabad of Norwich is a division of Chabad of Eastern Connecticut, serving the community of Norwich and surrounding areas.
